The Conrad London St James is an oasis of luxury and comfort in the heart of busy Westminster. My little family and I were extremely lucky to be able to experience a stay in this fabulous property.
This hotel has it all: from its majestic entrance, to its lounge, its fantastic restaurant and bar and finally its rooms! Everything has been thought out carefully to make your stay the most pleasant possible.
I was honestly amazed by the quality of service and the attention to detail, which nowadays are such important aspects in the hotel industry.
The hotel building is classy and discrete, strategically located on a quiet street but close to everything. You are after all in the middle of London!
One of the highlights of our stay was the afternoon tea at the Emmeline’s Lounge, named after British political activist Emmeline Pankhurst, and it is safe to say it is one of the best in London. The teas are carefully selected from different parts of the world, and for savoury food lovers like me there is an extra bonus: on top of the finger sandwiches, you get puff pastries and delicious mackerel pate on a brioche!
The Blue Boar restaurant was another pleasant surprise: an amazing cosy space, with wooden panels, leather seats, dimmed lights and warm tones, serving succulent food and an equally good wine recommended by the sommelier. My idea of a perfect dinner.
Our room was perfectly decorated, homely, spacious and comfortable, the kind of room I like. There is an exhaustive mini bar and snack choice, and complimentary coffee and tea. The room service breakfast was one of best I have ever experienced, with many menu options and add-ons.
Last but not least, the staff was incredibly helpful, which is very appreciated when you are travelling with an active toddler. Our room was ready on time, the luggage was delivered quickly and the baby cot set up swiftly (we were also given baby toiletries which was a nice touch!). The Conrad London St. James is definitely one of London’s most family friendly accommodations and you are close to some of city’s best parks.
